The Work out Roundup

Working out seems to be on everyone's mind ever January. I mean, it's only natural to make getting healthy and working out a part of your New Year's resolution but this can also mean setting yourself up for failure. New Year's resolutions seem to be games... we all want to see how long we can stick to them, so why should we make a lifestyle change a game? A few years ago, I made working out part of my every day life. If I can't get to the gym, I'll do a little workout in front of the TV. If I feel lazy and don't want to do any workout, I'll squeeze in at least 30 minutes of stretching - little things, that have made a big difference in my routines.

I also love to try new things. Sticking to just a 'gym workout' can get SO boring. I go on hike, job when its beautiful outside, go rocking climbing.. things that don't feel like a torturous 'workout'. When I do hit the gym, I love to start with cardio and then get some strength training in. Adding weights to your workout can really make a HUGE difference in the results that you see.
What I wear to the gym seems to impact my workout too. Funny, right? Well for all of us who get more than just a little excited with new clothes, I get VERY excited with new workout clothes. There are so many options out there to make working out fun and flattering - Lulu Lemon, Lucy, Athletica, Old Navy, Victoria's Secret (to name just a few).

Personally, Old Navy workout gear is number 1 on my list. Their compression bottoms are ah-mazing! I think I have 5 or 6 pairs all under 30$ each. They're also have a big active sale right now, with an additional 20% off clearance! Victoria's Secret is also a go- to for workout tops and sports bras, which I always seem to grab when they're on sale! They also have some great accessories - like the wrist zip up pouches! I put my key in here when I run along with an extra hair tie (just in case, right?!). I'm also obsessed with Asics.  Yes, I said Asics and not those bulky white ones we all used to dread wearing for cheer camp. If you live near a Road Runner, I recommend checking out their clearance warehouse. I am always finding the cutest ones for under $40 a pop. They last forever and are so great to run in.
So there you have it - the workout round up. Get fit, but don't make it a game. Make it a lifestyle choice..a lifestyle choice that includes a wardrobe update every few months!
